Northumbria Police have arrested a man after an armed robbery at a petrol station in Wallsend, Tyne & Wear.
At just after 6.20pm, on Sunday, November 23, police received a report of the robbery at Blue Sign Service Station, on the Coast Road.
A man entered the station wearing a dark motorbike helmet and holding a carrier bag. He produced what is believed to be a black handgun from the bag and demanded money from a member of staff. He made off with a quantity of cash from the till on foot eastbound along the Coast Road.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
