Morrisons has trumped Tesco’s current 10ppl fuel price promotion with a new deal giving motorists 15ppl off petrol or diesel when they spend £60 in store.
The ‘Fuel Britannia’ deal, which kicked off yesterday, comes during a period where fuel prices have risen across the country with diesel hitting a new average high last week.
Richard Lancaster, Morrisons marketing director, said: “We know how tough it is for our customers. This deal will help them in these tough economic times. Nobody has ever knocked this much off a litre of fuel before. This will make a real difference for our customers.”
Customers who take part in the Fuel Britannia deal and fill up with a typical tank of £50 of fuel should receive savings of more than £5.
Customers who are also part of the Morrisons Miles scheme can collect these points on top of the Fuel Britannia promotion, giving them further savings over the same period.
Fuel Britannia vouchers will be issued from February 23 to March 4. Customers who spend £60 or more in stores will receive a voucher that will allow them to claim the discount at Morrisons petrol station until March 11.
