A mother of five drove off from a forecourt after filling up because she had no money to pay. The Blackpool Gazette said Kelly Coles, aged 30, admitted making off without paying from Corton Beach service station in Blackpool last September.

A passenger in the car got out and paid for several items in the shop, while Coles filled up with £45-worth of fuel. She then left without paying for it.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £45 compensation, plus £85 costs.
