Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers has visited a new Blakemore Retail forecourt and convenience store at Laceby Lodge Services to discuss the opening of the store and its value in providing jobs for the local community, as well as business rates, employment costs and retail crime.

The Laceby Lodge Services site has a Shell petrol forecourt and a Spar shop with Greggs, Subway and Insomnia coffee franchises. The store was opened in August and held a family fun day to mark the occasion. The shop aims to be a destination shop where consumers can get everything they need and provides around 50 jobs for the local community.

Martin Vickers MP said: “I was very impressed with the new Laceby development. It has excellent facilities and has greatly enhanced the area after what was a long period when the site was derelict. I’m sure that both locals and visitors will benefit from the investment.”

Carolyne Barker, area manager for Blakemore Retail, added: “We were pleased to meet Martin to showcase our store and how we are working to meet the needs of our customers. It proved very beneficial to discuss the latest issues that are having an impact on our business and the wider convenience sector with our local MP. Having a strong relationship with Martin will help us to develop the business into the future.”
