Murco Petroleum has strengthened its forecourt shop team with the appointment of Gary Pearce as network manager, shops. Gary takes over from
Tony Walker who has moved into a new position of general manager, non fuel.
Pearce joins Murco from Costcutter where he was national forecourt sales manager. He worked for Costcutter for 10 years and for the last nine years managed the Murco account where he saw store numbers grow from eight to 212.
Prior to joining Costcutter, Gary worked in a variety of roles at convenience store chain One Stop where he held positions such as store manager, regional manager, development manager and property acquisitions manager.
Gary will be in control of all the day to day shop operations at Murco, including the implementation of this year’s £1 million shop development programme.
Walker said: “The performance of our shops and their importance to the income of our business has grown rapidly over the past few years. The appointment of Gary Pearce enables me to concentrate my time in maximizing the return that we as a company get from this important non-fuel sector.”
