BP IS THE WORLD’S most admired UK company, according to new research from management consultancy Hay Group and Fortune magazine. The research – based on surveying more than 10,000 directors, executives and managers at 357 companies around the globe – also puts BP as the second most admired UK innovators – second to Tesco. A BP spokeswoman said: “It’s always gratifying when a survey comes out in your favour, but we are just focused on getting on with the business.”
GARAGEWATCH HAS NEGOTIATED a special price for its members to have their pumps checked by Gilbarco Veeder-Root to see if the equipment is capable of being altered to display prices of £1 or more. Members will pay £99, as opposed to the usual price of £150, and if the work is carried out, which is thought to cost around £300-400, the call-out fee will be deducted.
CHEVRONTEXACO WILL NOW BE KNOWN as Chevron Corporation following research that showed its identity was fragmented and that it was still known by the name of its predecessor companies in some markets. While the corporate name is changing, the names of the company’s brands remain.
