The official opening of Gulf-branded Ravensthorpe Service Station Huddersfield Road, Dewsbury, was celebrated in style last week in recognition of the site becoming the 500th Gulf forecourt in the UK.
In attendance on the day were the Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Paul Kane and Mayoress Susan Bedford along with Paula Sherriff MP. A large commemorative cake, made by the onsite food provider Yaadgaar, was then cut by the Mayor and offered to customers along with Gulf goody bags.
The site has been owned and operated by the Hans family since 1991. Mohamed Hans started up the business and now his son Yusuf and four brothers are at the helm. Members of the Hans family, who redeveloped the state of the art forecourt and 3000sq ft Costcutter supermarket at a cost of £1.2m, were on hand with their staff to welcome customers along with Certas Energy’s Paul Muncey and Matthew Bellamy.
