South Wales Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a petrol station in which a shop assistant fought off the attacker.
The incident occurred at the Murco petrol station on Newport Road, Cardiff, in the early hours of Monday January 26.
A man entered the shop and attempted to access the till at about 4.54am.
After a scuffle with the shop assistant the man left the store empty handed and made off on foot along Colchester Avenue. The shop assistant suffered minor bruises but was otherwise uninjured.
