A car being pursued by police after a drugs raid crashed on a forecourt in Greater Manchester, narrowly missing the petrol pumps.
The chase began after officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) stopped a Volkswagen Caddy van near to the East Lancashire Road, Swinton, on Wednesday October 30.
Two men, aged 32 and 26, were arrested and what is believed to be one kilo of class A drugs was seized, and a third man who ran away was caught nearby. However, a fourth man drove off from the scene in a Volkswagen Golf.
Following a short pursuit - lasting less than a minute - involving officers from the TVIU, the Golf collided with a Honda Civic at the Texaco garage on Mount Skip Lane.
The driver was arrested and a further kilo of what is believed to be class A controlled drugs was recovered in the car.
The occupants of the Civic – a man and woman in their 40s, a woman in her 20s and a one-year-old baby - were treated for minor injuries.
All four men have been arrested in relation to supply and possession class A drugs.
