Police investigating a theft from a petrol station in Carlton Road, Barnsley, have issued a CCTV appeal for information.

At around 5am on Monday 14 July, a silver Mercedes entered the petrol station and an unknown man sitting in the front passenger seat got out of the car.

It is believed that the man filled the car with a quantity of fuel before getting back into the vehicle. The vehicle then allegedly left the forecourt without the man making payment.

The silver Mercedes had allegedly been stolen in an earlier incident.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with burglary and reported on summons for making off without payment.

Officers would like to identify the man in the image as he may hold important information.
