Highway Stops Retail (HSRL) says it has achieved a 25% increase in sales at its recently acquired Swanley Service Station, following a rapid takeover.

It took just four weeks to complete the necessary paperwork to finalise the purchase, confirm a new supplier and rebrand the site to Gulf.

After reviewing the possible suppliers, HSRL says Gulf was selected due to its ability to move quickly, to set up the account and credit cards, and to provide a competitive fuel supply agreement which is easy to administer and understand.

Since business commenced under the Gulf brand, the site has experienced a 25% increase in fuel sales and Tony Head, development director at HSRL, commented: “Before the move to Gulf, the site was looking a little tired and in need of a facelift. The new site branding and flash canopy gave it just that, which has obviously caught the attention of passersby.

“The move to Gulf was our chance to test the market to see how the brand stands up to the competition; thus far it’s passed with flying colours. The brand looks good, the account team is great and really supportive, and the overall offer is really positive.

“My overriding memory of this experience will be the speed and efficiency Gulf delivered, in just four weeks the site was signed, sealed and delivered. We hope this growth we’ve experienced so far will continue with the imminent shop rebrand also – we’re currently in discussions as to who we will sign with.”
