Sainsbury’s has kicked off a fuel promotion today giving shoppers 10p off every litre of fuel when they spend £60 or more in store.

Starting from today and running until Sunday July 3, the deal is the strongest fuel promotion yet by any major supermarket.

The deal will last for five days, although the vouchers can then be used for up to two weeks afterwards (ends 16 July). Customers will also be able to claim Nectar points on their fuel purchases.

Sainsbury’s group commercial director Mike Coupe said: “This is a fantastic deal for our customers. We recognise that times are tough, so this deal will help alleviate some of the pressure and help reduce the weekly fuel bill.”

The promotion follows Sainsbury’s decision last weekend to drop fuel prices by up to 3ppl on unleaded and up to 3ppl on diesel.
