Northumberland-based independent forecourt retailer Khizer Khan is expanding his business and taking on a second petrol station, supported by Santander Corporate Banking.
Khizer has operated Nedderton Service Station in Bedlington since 2006, and is now taking on a second site, on a busy commuter route in South Shields. The site currently has a small retail section, which Khizer plans to extend in line with the offer at Nedderton.
“I’m committed to growing my business and I am pleased that Santander shares this commitment,” said Khizer. “The team at Santander recognised my knowledge of the market place and my ambitions to refurbish this local site, and offered the right financial package to be able to do so. I’m excited about the changes being made, and I’m looking forward to seeing the business develop.”
Kevin Wright, relationship director for Santander Corporate Banking, said: “I am very happy to be able to support Mr Khan with the refurbishment of this petrol station and am confident that with his considerable knowledge and expertise, he will be able to make the operation a complete success.
“We are always looking for opportunities to help high-quality, efficient local businesses and this underlines our ambition to make sure the business community in the North East is given the best possible support.”
