Shell is running a new pump attendant service on 20 UK sites as part of a three month trial.

The attendants are available to fill up customers’ cars, wash windscreens and clean headlights for an discretionary charge of £1. If successful the scheme will be rolled out nationwide.

Shell spokesman Nick Brown said: “We hope this will help our customers and make their visit to the Shell forecourt a more pleasant experience.”
