Bexhill Garage on Barnhorn Road in Bexhill-on-Sea has recently re-opened as a Jet site after standing derelict for five years.

Owner Sultan Hayat spent weeks overseeing the changes on the East Sussex site, which include a convenience store complete with a large off licence.

He said: "We joined Jet because it has the most competitive fuel prices but also because of the firm emphasis it puts upon the role of Jet dealers within the community. We wanted to turn a disused space into something of value and use for the community.

"We are delighted with the new forecourt and, from the feedback we’ve had so far, so are local residents." Indeed more than 100 people turned up for the official re-opening of the site.

Sultan is already making plans for the future.

He is keen to add a car wash and is currently looking at which facilities are in demand locally.

Commenting on the new partnership between Sultan and Jet, the oil company’s marketing manager Patrick Hudson said: "We are thrilled that Bexhill has chosen Jet as its new supplier. We are confident that the site will deliver an unrivalled service in the local community and, as with all our dealers, we are committed to offering them the very best levels of support and customer service."
