Topaz, Ireland’s biggest fuels and convenience retailer has been recognised as one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland for the sixth year in a row.

This year Topaz claimed 8th place, on the list of the Best Large Workplaces in Ireland. The Irish owned and managed company was the only retailer to make the top ten and the only fuels and convenience retailer on the list of Best Workplaces.

Topaz was presented with its award at the Great Place to Work Awards, which was attended by Minister of State Lucinda Creighton.

Great Place to Work Ireland, which is part of a Global network with offices in 48 countries, says the key defining feature of a best workplace is the levels of trust that exist within it.

Paul Candon, marketing and corporate services director at Topaz, said: “Our employees are our greatest resource and partnership with them is key to our on-going success. This is a key part of our DNA and culture. We know the key to our business is enhancing the customer’s experience and that is driven by the enthusiasm and professionalism of our staff. We would like to thank all our 1,600 employees for their support and contribution to making Topaz a Great Place to Work.

"This is a huge achievement for a young Irish company like Topaz, especially when you bear in mind the competition for places. The fact that we are the only dedicated fuels and convenience retailer on the list is also very satisfying. Awards like this are a vote of confidence in the way we do business."
