Top 50 Indie Symonds Forecourts Group has announced an increase in turnover in its annual results.
Chief executive Jeremy Symonds said: "The forecourt and convenience market continues to be challenging, but also offers significant opportunities for those retailers able to both adapt and innovate. Sales growth of 9% increasing revenue to £41m, EBITDA has improved by 49% to £826,000."
Managing director Nick Lloyd added: "The focus for our team is the continual building of the Symonds brand. Winning The Grocer Gold Award for Best Independent Retailer, shows the standards that we continually aspire to, ensuring we get the formula right for our 60,000 weekly customers."
Lloyd added that the momentum has carried over into the following trading year with sales for Christmas up 10% compared with 2012.
Symonds Forecourts was ranked 34 in the Top 50 Indies for 2013 and in 2012 it won the Forecourt Trader of the Year Award.
