Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at the service station on Jacob’s Well Lane, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in the early hours of Tuesday (29 March).

It happened at 3.10am when two men forced open a door and went to the counter where a member of staff was present.

One man was carrying a small bladed weapon, the other a large bar. One of the two then jumped onto the counter as the member of staff ran to the rear of the premises.

The two men then stole cash from the till and cigarettes before making off on foot.

They are described as male, both wearing dark hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms.

Detective inspector Tim Hunt of Wakefield CID, said: “Enquiries are ongoing into this offence and we are appealing for witnesses and information.
