The refinery is a great asset in winning dealer business, according to Eric Fisher, Valero Energy’s president for Europe. Last year the company signed up 100 new dealers to the Texaco brand, including the final site to move to Texaco in the Kay Group network (see Retail Focus page 24).

"It’s becoming rare in the UK to be a fuel supplier and actually own and operate a refinery. It helps to differentiate us along with our supply chain and our people," he said.
