Tango Cherry Sugar Free is available in impulse and take-home formats

Britvic is bringing back “fans’ favourite” Tango Cherry as part of its core portfolio.

The soft drinks giant says that it has been having success with innovation in its flavoured carbonates portfolio, which includes Tango Mango and Tango Apple, the brand’s second biggest Tango flavour.

It believes that its improved cherry flavour, which is now also sugar free, will appeal to a wide range of shoppers from Gen-Z to families, and from consumers who already know the flavour, to those who are on the hunt for ”bold new fruit” options.

Britvic says that flavour innovation is fundamental to keeping shoppers engaged with the fruit flavoured carbonates category. Cherry is the fourth biggest flavour in total carbonates, worth £309 million, according to Nielsen IQ RMS, for the 52 weeks ending June 29 2024.

Ben Parker, Britvic’s retail commercial director GB, says: ”We’ve had many consumers requesting the return of our iconic Tango Cherry flavour on social media, so there really was no better time to bring it back and excite the category with yet another bold, popular flavour. We know how important it is to keep innovating to keep shoppers interested and excited by the category and we are confident this one is going to be a hit in-store.”

Tango Cherry will be available from October in a 330ml can, with an rrp of 80p, a 500ml plain bottle at £1.99 rrp, a 500ml price-marked bottle at £1.25, a two-litre bottle at £3.19 rrp, multipacks of eight cans, £5.29 rrp, 18 cans, £9.69 rrp, and 24 cans, £12.49 rrp. The launch will be supported with PR, social, influencer and shopper media activity.
