Bowling Green in Lancaster is the first Ascona store to undergo a full transformation featuring the new Nisa 2.0 fascia. The project included a complete internal refit alongside a comprehensive update of the external branding, to deliver “a fresh and modern look” throughout the site.
As part of the redevelopment, alcohol was added to the store’s range for the first time, enabling the site to better meet customer needs. In addition, the chilled grab-and-go range has been significantly enhanced with dedicated space, while the introduction of the Nisa meal deal is said to provide customers with added convenience and value.
The food-to-go range has also been strengthened through an upgraded Costa Express installation, now including the iced drinks range, as well as the introduction of Rollover. “Together with the existing Skwishee offering, these additions create a strong and credible food-to-go destination for customers,” says Richard Law, head of retail business at Ascona.
“Recognising the continued growth of parcel services, we created a dedicated Evri parcel area to maximise opportunities within this expanding sector. In addition, a purpose-built vape gantry has been introduced in partnership with Totally Wicked, delivering a clean, well-organised, and highly shoppable customer experience,” he adds.
Throughout the store, Law says the new Nisa 2.0 branding and premium finishes have created a “significantly enhanced retail environment”.
“Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many regular customers commenting on the remarkable transformation,” he says.
And that feedback has translated into positive results with sales at the store increasing by over 15% in its first full week of trading since its relaunch.
