The former Aberlour Filling Station on High Street, Aberlour, Moray, has been sold to Atholl Forecourt Ltd after three years on the market.
The prominent site includes a former self-service petrol station with convenience store, attached warehouse/workshop and a two-bedroom cottage – all set on a prime roadside plot.
Seller Jane Crowther says: “We bought the business from Frank Ogg and took over in spring 2004. My husband Russell Annear ran it principally throughout our ownership and upgraded it to a 24-hour fuel facility about 10 years ago. After his passing in 2021 we continued to operate with the help and support from key local individuals.”
The site traded until 2023 when it first went on the market.
Crowther continues: “We were very keen to keep the site as a filling station for the whole community so are delighted to handover to experienced operators and wish them every success and thanks as they invest in Aberlour with the modernisation of the site.”
Hamza Saleem, managing director of Atholl Forecourt Ltd, says: “We are delighted with our latest acquisition in Aberlour and see tremendous potential in this well-positioned site. Our plans include substantial redevelopment and modernisation, creating a high-quality Gulf forecourt and convenience store which we hope to open in March and which will serve both local residents and visitors to the area. We’re committed to investing in the Moray region and contributing positively to the local economy.”
Coralie Pickering, director at CCL Property, which handled the sale, says: “We’re thrilled to have been involved in this successful transaction in the heart of Aberlour. The sale highlights both the strength of demand for well-located mixed-use sites across Moray and the confidence investors have in the region. It’s exciting to see new energy and investment coming into the community, and we look forward to watching the site being transformed under its new ownership.”
