ACS is calling on retailers from across the convenience sector to complete the 2011 Crime Survey. The survey addresses a range of issues including burglary, crime reporting, robberies and physical violence, and verbal abuse.
Every year, ACS gathers information from retailers across the country to reveal the true impact of crime in shops. The 2011 Crime Survey is available on the ACS website. Evidence from the Crime Survey will be submitted to the Home Office and used to inform the work of the National Retail Crime Steering Group.
James Lowman, ACS Chief Executive, said: “Crime affects retailers of all sizes, in all kinds of locations up and down the country. It can make a major difference to the viability of a business and significantly impact on the lives of those that own and work in retail premises. We want to find ways to prevent, detect and deter crime and we need support from Government, police and communities to do this.
“In order to raise awareness it is essential that we gather information on retailers’ experience of crime and we hope that retailers will take time to participate in this important survey.”
ACS will also be holding a Crime Prevention Roundtable in March to discuss the findings of the survey and the implications for retailers. The deadline for responses to the survey is February 10th 2012.
