Masked robbers vaulted a counter and attacked a cashier during a raid on a Manchester petrol station.
Three men pushed customers aside and then punched the cashier in the face several times before stealing money and cigarettes from the Shell service station on Eccles New Road in Salford.
The offenders then left the shop and were seen to ride off on motorbikes, some of which were later recovered nearby on Cotterill Street.
The robbery occurred at 7.05pm on Wednesday, November 5.
One robber had a black crash helmet, one wore a blue and white crash helmet, and a third had his hood up wearing dark coloured sportswear.
Detective constable Cathy Blain said: “This was a frightening attack on the cashier that left him distressed, and badly shaken up. He wasn’t badly injured but this had the potential to be more serious.
“The offenders had no qualms about entering a busy shop, with customers already inside, and carrying out this violent robbery.
“Were you one of the customers in the shop? Did you see the offenders leave after the robbery, or see them dump the bikes afterwards?”
