Duckham’s Find My Oil service is unique in the market

Oil brand Duckhams is expanding its forecourt presence, having previously only been available at EG On The Move (EGOTM) petrol stations.

Last year the 127-year-old brand received investment from EGOTM boss Zuber Issa, which brought with it a presence in the car-care sections of the chain’s 160 forecourts.

Now, Duckhams is looking to expand beyond EGOTM sites and has partnered with Alliance Distribution Group (ADG) to facilitate this.

ADG members comprise GAP Convenience Distribution; CTC Wholesalers; and Petroshops, with those firms supplying car care products to forecourts in England; Wales and the West Country; and Scotland respectively.

Duckhams is positioning itself as a premium brand within the secondary oil market – IE lubricants not made by majors such as Shell under its Helix brand, and Esso with Mobil.

While older motorists are likely to recognise Duckhams due to its heritage, the brand is hoping its unique ‘Find My Oil’ service will contribute to its appeal to younger drivers.

To use this service customers simply scan a QR code featured on Duckhams bottles and on point-of-sale displays and enter their vehicle’s registration online, whereupon they are told which specific oil their engine needs.
