This week sees Esso launch a retro World Cup promotion in its sites that allows fans to collect medals featuring
their top England football heroes. The company said the promotion aimed to bring back happy memories for many drivers of the first-ever Esso World Cup Coin Collection – which was produced for the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
Running until July 11, the FA 2010 official England Medal Collection features 24 medals to collect, each featuring the image of an England footballer.
Customers receive a medal for every £15 they spend on fuel at participating Esso service stations in England.
In addition, at selected Esso service stations operated by ROC UK Limited, an Esso group company – including those branded On the Run, money spent on car washes and in-store purchases (excluding tobacco products) will also be eligible for one of the medals. These sites will also offer special bonus medals on certain in-store products during the promotion.
Up to five medals can be issued per transaction (equivalent to purchases to the value of £75 or more).
There is also a dedicated album available, containing player profiles, England’s group fixture list and space to display the medals.
