A forecourt attendant in Luton stole more than £3,000 from his boss using a fuel card that was left behind by a customer.
According to Bedfordshire on Sunday, Nasir Riasat stole the cash from the petrol station where he worked in Kempston. When the store was empty, he would run the card through the till and use the PIN number on it to put through a transaction. He would then refund it but take the cash for himself.
Between August 14 and September 21 last year he stole around £3,000.
The owner of the petrol station was alerted when he was contacted by the owner of the card. He then checked the CCTV and saw Riasat in action.
Riasat has since voluntarily paid back the full £3,000 to his boss.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of fraud by false representation and was given a 12-month community order with supervision and must complete 180 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60.
