A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a petrol station in Barton, North Lincolnshire.

The incident happened at shortly before 9pm on Wednesday, January 27, when a man in a motorcycle helmet walked into a petrol station in Ferriby Road and made a small purchase.

At that point, he is said to have threatened the female cashier with a knife and demanded cash. A quantity of money was handed over and he escaped on foot in the direction of the nearby funeral directors.

The suspect was described as slim, with facial hair and around 5ft 6in tall. He wore jeans, a grey hooded top, black helmet and a waist-length black jacket. He spoke with a local accent.

A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident the following morning and remains in police custody, helping officers with their enquiries.
