City renews deal with BP to maintain sites

City Facilities Management has been awarded a new five-year contract with BP, to provide facilities management (FM) services across its entire UK retail estate.

The contract will see City continue its long-term partnership with BP, to provide building fabric, electrical and refrigeration maintenance services across more than 300 sites.

City's partnership with BP began in 2009 and the contract now employs more than 60 engineers, supported by a 24/7 helpdesk, based at City's headquarters in Glasgow.

Allan Abernethy, trading manager for BP's UK retail business, said: "I am delighted to confirm a new five-year contract with City, which has demonstrated a firm commitment to driving forward that not only added efficiencies and value but also health and safety excellence, over the last nine years. This is the first time BP has awarded a contract of this duration to any FM provider and I look forward to the future with City on board as a strategic partner."
