Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a petrol station in the Beighton area of Sheffield.

A man entered the shop at High Street Service Station just after 8.50pm on Wednesday 8 October and threatened the staff member with what is believed to be a handgun.

Cigarettes and cash were handed over and the offender left in the direction of Woodhouse Lane.

The staff member was left shaken but did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

The offender is described as white, between 16 and 18-years-old, around 5ft 8ins tall, and of stocky build.

He was wearing a grey top and tracksuit bottoms and spoke with a local accent.
