The hospital nearest the headquarters of Euro Garages’ parent company EG Group has been able to buy vital equipment after a donation of more than £60,000 by the company. The equipment will be used in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Burnley General Teaching Hospital. Javed Patel from EG Group said: "We are really proud to be able to give this support to our local hospital trust so that their services, which benefit the whole of this community, can be even better."
brexit threatens fuel supply chain
UKPIA has warned that exiting the EU without a deal could put the fuel supply chain at risk. The warning came after the government published a Technical Notice on "Regulating Chemicals (REACH) if there is no Brexit Deal". REACH is the regulations overseeing chemicals within the EU, and UK petroleum companies have around 500 licences for registration of substances, the largest number of any EU member state.
hmrc raids forecourts
Three men have been arrested and a suspected fuel laundering plant dismantled as part of an HMRC investigation into a suspected multi-million pound fuel fraud. More than 50 HMRC officers, supported by North Wales Police and Police Service of Northern Ireland, carried out simultaneous searches of nine business including forecourts and four residential addresses.
contaminated diesel at tesco’s
Dozens of Tesco customers were left stranded after water contaminated diesel tanks in two separate incidents. The first occurred at the Tesco Extra at Goodmayes in East London on September 23. The following morning there was a problem at Tesco’s in Eastville in Bristol.
porsche pushes hybrids and evs
Porsche has abandoned production of diesel engines and will increase its focus on hybrid and EVs. The company said that demand for diesel models was dropping. In 2017, the diesel share of worldwide Porsches was 12%, and it has not had a diesel in its portfolio since February of this year.
