A man has been questioned by police and released on bail after a petrol pump was set alight at an MRH site at Egham in Kent.
Police and the fire service were called to the Gulf station in The Avenue, which include a Hurst’s forecourt store, in the early hours of Sunday (August 10) to deal with the incident, and a 26-year-old man from Kent was arrested.
Petrol station manager Nelson Aloysius said the blaze had been small and the cashier had turned off the pumps during the incident.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “Officers were called to an incident at Runnymede Petrol Station just before 4.30am on Sunday.
“A 26-year-old man from Kent was arrested on suspicion of arson and has been released on police bail until Thursday September 11.”
