Palmer and Harvey has released a comprehensive guidance pack to help retailers cash in on frozen food sales during the winter.
The pack includes advice from category experts outlining the seven easy steps to selling frozen food and maximising sales, including tips on cabinets and freezers, merchandising advice and what the best sellers are, to enable the retailer to drive sales over the coming months.
Included in the pack is a market summary, revealing that the total frozen market is now worth £5.4bn and grew 5.9% compared to last year. The basket spend of customers purchasing frozen food is nearly 50% more than those not buying frozen.
Richard Hayhoe, marketing director at Palmer and Harvey, said: “People are using their local shops more frequently than ever, on average of three to four times a week. Our pack gives retailers the know-how to maximise their profits in the frozen category.”
