Forty-eight roadside restaurants, consisting mainly of former Little Chef sites, are being brought to market by Christie & Co. This follows the announcment by Little Chef earlier this year that it was closing 67 sites around the UK.

Christie & Co has been instructed by Travelodge to market the 48 sites for letting — Travelodge was one of a number of landlords to whom Little Chef sites reverted following a pre-pack administration.

The 48 properties are located in all four corners of the UK and are available to let on new leases (terms ranging from five to 17 years) and with annual rents of £10,000 to £40,000.

Simon Chaplin, director and head of restaurants for Chrstie & Co, said: “These former Little Chef sites offer operators the opportunity to create new restaurant, fast-food or retail outlets on the busy roadside locations for which Little Chef was renowned. Alternatively, the sites are suitable for a variety of other uses such as surgeries, offices or showrooms — subject to necessary consents.”

Some of the Little Chefs will continue to trade during the sales process. The majority are adjacent to petrol stations.
