Esso beat off stiff competition from major oil companies to be voted Best Forecourt Retailer 2010 in the Convenience Tracking Programme
Awards, organised by research and consulting specialist Him.
The award was presented to Andy Hattersley of Esso, by Merril Boulton, editor of award sponsor Forecourt Trader magazine, on a glitzy circus-themed night of entertainment, held in a giant marquee in the centre of London.
The award was based on feedback from 5,500 forecourt shoppers (as part of the convenience tracking programme CTP) and was based on customers ratings and visit frequency, spend and fuel loyalty.
