Tanerdy Garage in Carmarthen, which recently switched to Gulf after 80 years with Shell, has been awarded the title of Best Gulf Site at this year’s SuperStation awards, organised by Gulf brand owner Certas Energy. Stephen Smith, proprietor of Tanerdy Garage, said: "Everyone at Tanerdy Garage is thrilled. It’s a very special moment and recognition for a fantastic team of hard-working people, all committed to providing the highest standards of service and ready to take any challenge in their stride.
"When we moved to Gulf after 80 years with Shell it was a big change, one that our staff and customers have embraced. With Gulf we are part of something fresh and looking to the future. SuperStation gives us further reassurance that we are part of a process that values us for what we do and that makes a big difference."
SuperStation is open to Certas Energy’s 1,200 independent fuel retailers in the UK, with awards in seven categories. The other winners were: Best Shop, Stevensons of Oxbridge, Stockton-On-Tees; Best Forecourt Assistant North, Ron Shipman of John Harrison Ltd, Nottingham; Best Retail Initiative, Penny Petroleum, Alnwick; Best Pace Site, Wild Goose Garage, Dursley; Most Improved Site, Crawley Autopoint, West Sussex; and Best Forecourt Assistant South, Jean Burton of Victoria Park FS, Cardiff.
