Officers from West Mercia Police are appealing for information after three thieves used an angle grinder to gain access to a forecourt shop.
The incident took place at on Monday 19 October at the Tesco filling station on Mill Wood Drive in Worcester, Worcs.
Police say three men wearing dark clothing and face coverings walked onto the forecourt at approximately 2:10am, with one of them using an angle grinder to cut through a metal security shutter protecting the shop’s doorway. Another man used a fire extinguisher to smash the door’s lower panel.
After gaining access to the store the men again deployed the angle grinder, this time using it to cut open cash boxes before leaving the store with them.
The men walked off the site and made their way Mill Wood Drive, where they mounted electric bikes or motorbikes and rode off.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Todd comments: “We’re releasing these images in the hope that they jog someone’s memory about what they saw in the area during the early hours of Monday morning.
“We appreciate the suspects’ faces are not visible and that they are unlikely to be identifiable from the images alone. However, the photographs show a number of distinctive features, including an angle grinder being carried from the scene, as well as the clothing worn by the suspects.”
Todd asked nearby residents to check dashcam, doorbell and CCTV footage, adding: “Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove vital to our enquiries and I would urge anyone who thinks they can help to get in touch.”
