Euro Garages has opened the 1,800th Subway store in the UK and Ireland at its Eye Green Service Station in Peterborough, while MRH has revealed more about its plans for the brand.

The Euro Garages store, located on the A47 in Eye Green, is the 47th Subway store opened by the firm. Ranked third in the Forecourt Trader Top 50 Indies, Euro Garages is aiming to have 100 Subway stores by 2016.

Ilyas Munshi, commercial director of Euro Garages, commented: "Reaching the 1,800 store milestone is a clear demonstration of the popularity and more importantly, the acceptance of the Subway brand by the both franchisees and consumers.

"Subway is an important brand partner as we actively secure more locations and invest in our existing 180 forecourt estate."

MRH number one in the Forecourt Trader Top 50 Indies list has opened Subway stores at its sites at Bellshill and Springburn in Glasgow, and Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, and plans to have 10 operating by the end of the year, and 30 a year later.

MRH managing director John Lynn said: "Our partnership with Subway brings a strong brand and operating system which works well in the forecourt environment.

"We are keen to develop this partnership and look forward to opening further outlets."
