Tangerine Confectionery is expanding its Softies range with the addition of three new products, offering soft and chewy twists on retro favourites under the Barratt brand – introducing Dip Dab Softies, and Refreshers and Fruit Salad Mini Softies.

The new Dip Dab Softies are a modern twist on the classic Dip Dab. The red and white sweets deliver both the strawberry flavour of the Dip Dab lolly and the fizzy taste of the lemon sherbet, all in a soft, chewable, lolly shaped sweet.

In addition to Dip Dab Softies, Tangerine Confectionery has also announced the launch of both the Refreshers Mini Softies and Fruit Salad Mini Softies. The miniature versions of the popular Softies favourites contain all the fizzy, fruity flavour of the full-sized sweets and are available in small 30g portions – ideal for consumers concerned with portion control.

Russell Tanner, marketing and category director at Tangerine Confectionery, said: “Tangerine Confectionery’s Softies range, including the original Fruit Salad and Refreshers Softies, has excelled ahead of the market, increasing by 25.7% in the last 12 months, showing a huge demand for soft gum confectionery.

“The return of Barratt and the initial £2.6m investment into the brand has been a huge success, including the launch of Barratt NPD such as the Sour Apple Dip Dab, the Fruity Coconut Mushrooms, and the Sour Bon Bons.

“With the appetite for retro confectionery growing, and new innovative variations of classics becoming popular with the brand’s loyal following, we have no doubt that the Dip Dab Softies, the Fruit Salad Mini Softies and the Refreshers Mini Softies will become best sellers within the Barratt family.”

The Dip Dab Softies will be available from as 120g price-marked packs in cash and carry and convenience stores. Both the Fruit Salad Mini Softies and the Refreshers Mini Softies will also be available from 18 August in cash and carry and convenience stores.
