Two hundred and fifty Spar stores across the UK have converted their old fluorescent lighting to Nualight’s Blaze LED solution.
These 250 conversions are the first phase of a roll-out across Spar in the UK by Cross Group (specialists in refrigeration, air-conditioning and energy efficient technologies) and Nualight (specialists in LED lighting for food retail). Cross Group is a Nualight strategic partner for convenience retail. This programme is believed to be Europe’s first significant LED retrofit in the convenience sector.
Joe Conway, commercial director of Cross Group NI, said: “Great Spar stores create great customer experiences and that is why the Blaze LED upgrade programme has been so successful. Four Spar regional distribution centres - Henderson Group, CJ Lang & Son, Appleby Westward Group and Blakemore - are all participating with 250 stores completed to date.
“After replacing fluorescent with Blaze, stores are visibly enhanced with brighter, fresher and more natural lighting. This highly efficient product has a distinctive design aesthetic and a unique optical design for very low glare and exceptionally uniform lighting. Moving from fluorescent to Blaze also dramatically reduces lighting lifetime costs.”
Conway says the Blaze 600 fitting is maintenance-free, delivers 67%+ energy savings, and has a lifespan five times greater than traditional store fluorescent lamps.
