Spar is rolling out a new epos system driven by Epson’s MR-800 modular register across its 2,600 stores in a bid to improve both efficiency and customer service.
The high-performance Epson kit has an ultra-slim touchscreen monitor and built-in magnetic stripe reader, and runs the Sparpos scanning software, developed by Business Computer Projects. Spar’s aim is to move to a totally electronic distribution system and eliminate the need for store visits, so with this in mind the Epson MR-800 has totally open architecture capable of running the very latest software.
