The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) is encouraging retailers to follow Assured Advice on the tobacco display ban to ensure compliance with the regulations.

By signing up to Assured Advice, which is free of charge for ACS members, retailers cannot be challenged by local enforcement agencies if they are following the guidance set out through Assured Advice.

The display ban was introduced in 2012 for all stores over 3,000 sq ft / 280 sq m, with a three-year period allowed for smaller retailers to prepare for the change.

ACS has produced a short ten question quiz about the tobacco display ban regulations to ensure that retailers and thier staff are aware of the display ban regulations and what they can and can’t do under the new rules. The quiz can be taken here: http://www.acs.org.uk/display-ban-quiz/
