A baby girl was born on a BP forecourt in Ashton-under-Lyne after her desperate parents spotted an ambulance filling up with fuel.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Peter Diver was driving his wife Claire to hospital to give birth when they realised they wouldn’t make it in time. Peter was about to stop and deliver the baby himself when he spotted an ambulance filling up with fuel at the BP in Manchester Road. The couple asked the paramedics to help and within minutes their daughter Elise was born.
The crew cut the cord then rushed Claire and 6lb 14oz Elise to hospital.
