The deal that brings together the UK’s two largest branded networks to create wider fuel card acceptance for car and van fleets is now live. BP PLUS
cardholders can now use 1000 Texaco sites and Texaco’s The Business Card holders can use 1200 BP forecourts.
This means that the BP PLUS card – BP’s fuel card for car an van fleets – will have access to the second largest network in the UK, or one in three of every UK forecourt.
Allan Abernethy, BP’s dealer sales manager, says fleets are very important to BP dealers: “The BP Fuel Card is an integral part of the dealer offer delivering over one billion litres a year for the BP network, representing one in five litres of fuel sold at our sites.”
Ranjeev Baines, BP’s UK Fuel Cards manager adds: “Cross acceptance with Texaco makes the BP PLUS card even more compelling for car and van fleets and provides an opportunity for us to deliver incremental volume to the BP network. Fleet drivers provide not only above-average fuel spend but also valuable footfall into shops which drives non-fuel purchases.”
Finally, to welcome Texaco drivers to BP forecourts, which already service one million customers a day, there will be a very special promotion. The ‘Welcome to BP’ campaign will mean that all Texaco card holders spending at BP will be awarded double Nectar points for two months from today.
