BP has joined Natwest and RBS’s new loyalty programme, Cashback Plus, as one of the launch partners.
According to RBS and Natwest, Cashback Plus is the UK’s only debit-card linked loyalty scheme, and more than 12 million of their customers will be rewarded for shopping on their debit card.
Cashback Plus enables shoppers to earn at least 1% of their spend back on qualifying purchases in BP, Cineworld, Caffe Nero and other high street retailers.
Once the debit card has been activated online the 1% offers are automatically loaded onto the Cashback Plus account, linked to the debit card, and available straight away. Targeted offers are made available from participating retailers based around customers’ shopping habits.
Rewards earned can subsequently be changed into cash and transferred back into the customer’s current account, traded up for greater value rewards, or changed into cash and donated to charity.
Alex Windle, marketing director at BP UK, said: “We are delighted to be a partner in Cashback Plus. Being part of this long-term programme with RBSG allows us to share our strategy with confidence and ensure we harness the power of their transactional data to drive profitable incremental sales to our forecourts.”
Allan Hardie, head of NatWest and RBS current accounts commented: “We want to reward our loyal customers for banking with NatWest and RBS, but we also want to give our new customers an offer that won’t fizzle out just after signing up.
“This simple reward scheme requires no separate loyalty card and it’s completely free. Customers will get value back on something they do every day – using their debit card.”
