Chevron is to provide Texaco-branded fuel for 19 members of the Co-operative Retail Trading Group (CRTG), the UK’s largest consumer co-operative. Clive Adamson, head of petrol and post offices at the Co-op Group said: "Chevron’s Texaco brand is well known on the forecourt and we arepleased to
be building a relationship with it so that we can continue to provide our members with excellent quality products and services at competitive prices."
The deal follows Chevron’s strategy to expand its dealer network following the sale of its company-owned network.Brian Worrall, Chevron sales manager for Europe, said: "As a fuel wholesaler, our objectives are to help our service station owners to be more successful and we provide them with a whole raft of assistance under our Bright Horizons programme to achieve this. Our package, together with the face-to-face relationships, means there are now more independently owned sites with Texaco than with any other brand.
Meanwhile, Texaco has been voted as a UK Superbrand for 2008/9.
