Forecourt cashpoint ripped out by telehandler

Officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary were called out to a forecourt this morning (Friday, November 6) after a cashpoint was stolen by thieves who used a telehandler to rip it out of the site’s shop wall.

The incident took place at 5am at the BP Wishbech Road forecourt in Littleport, Cambridgeshire. Police were on the scene just 12 minutes later, but while officers searched the area this was done “to no avail”, the force said, and it has now launched an investigation into the incident.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary says it has stepped up patrols in the area, while the telehandler left at the scene is presumed to have been stolen and will likely form a key part of officers’ inquiries.

Anyone with any information, including doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage, is invited to come forward, quoting ‘incident 52 of 6 November’. Cambridgeshire Constabulary can be contacted online, or via 101.
