Energy management specialist Schneider Electric has launched its "safe and efficient" electric vehicle charging systems in the UK.

With the UK’s spend on electric vehicles set for £7bn by 2014, according to research by GFK Automatic, the charging infrastructure will play a pivotal role in the future success of electric vehicles to ensure users have optimum access to power any time, anywhere.

Schneider Electric’s fast-charge station is capable of charging 80% of a battery in just 15 minutes. The product features a vandal-proof locking system, is weather and impact resistant, offers supervision capabilities and charge-level indicator, and comes with the option of a payment system.
