Hall (speaking at the 2024 Forecourt Show) joins Central Co-op by way of BP and Sainsbury’s

Joanne Hall has left BP to become Central Co-op’s head of retail operations for local community stores.

Hall had been with BP for the last year, where she oversaw retail at the oil major’s 300 company-owned sites.

Announcing her new role, Hall said she is “delighted” to be joining the firm. She added it is a “real privilege to have the opportunity to work with incredible people and leaders to make a difference in a great organisation”.

Prior to her time with BP Hall worked for Sainsbury’s for just under six years, ultimately heading up 68 stores in London and Surrey as regional sales director.

BP rolled out a number of retail initiatives while Hall was with the firm, including a trial of self-scanning tills, a refreshed Wild Bean Café with fresh customisation options, and a closer focus on consumer behaviour among EV drivers.

Hall has also served as a board member for Elim Housing Association, and was a member of the audit & risk finance committees with the charity Scope.
