Eight months after his firm SJS Group acquired the site, Johnny Srikrishna’s redevelopment proposals for a forecourt on the Norfolk coast have been revealed in planning documents.
The Crayford & Abbs filling station in Mundesley is a stone’s throw from the beach and a caravan park, but its dated layout and small shop made it ripe for reimagining.
Srikrishna’s plans for the site include the construction of a 1,900sq ft shop with 1,300sq ft of retail space and a 600sq ft back of house.
The glass-fronted store will face a four-pump-island forecourt served by two 50,000-litre underground tanks featuring split compartments, plus a 10,000-litre Class 1 petrol interceptor.
SJS also intends to install two EV chargers at the site, plus three jet-wash bays and a pair of air/water spaces.
Parcel lockers and laundrette facilities are included in the plans, too, which are under North Norfolk District Council’s consideration.
